2010 Vintage wine
The 2010 vintage: one of the greatest vintages of the Bordeaux vineyards. The 2010 vintage for Bordeaux is celebrated as legendary. The Grands Crus Classés of the Médoc of 2010 are of very good quality and can be kept for a long time. The Pauillac and Pessac-Leognan appellations are exceptional. The 2010 Sauternes vintage was exceptional and even better than the 2009 vintage. Despite unfavorable conditions for noble rot, the season went well. The summer heat concentrated the grapes, followed by revitalizing rains in October. The resulting wines were sublime, with fresh acidity and rich notes typical of the region.

JEAN YVES BIZOT 2010
In Burgundy, the 2010 vintage is extremely good despite the climatic challenges. The harvest was delicate, but the talented winemakers produced elegant and precise wines. The wines are refined, with a racy acidity characteristic of a fresh vintage.
In the Rhône Valley, the 2010 vintage was phenomenal, both in red and white, despite a difficult start. The northern Rhône experienced a cold and wet winter, while the southern Rhône suffered from a delicate spring. However, the summer was long, hot and dry with cool nights, preserving the acidity of the grapes.
Unfortunately, Champagne is the big loser of the 2010 vintage. Indeed, the 2010 vintage was a disappointment due to drought, rot issues and reduced yields. Chardonnay fared better, but few quality vintage wines were produced.
Our advice for buying a 2010 wine
In Bordeaux, the reds are exceptional, with a concentration of black fruit and aging potential. The whites are also good, although slightly less bright than the reds.
Sauternes wines are fine, elegant and keep well. Barsac particularly shone, but Sauternes was still superb.
In Burgundy, outstanding examples come from the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune, as well as from Pommard and Volnay.
In the Rhône Valley, the red wines are of superior quality in the Côte Rôtie, Cornas and Crozes Hermitage appellations for the north of the region. In southern Rhône, the 2010 vintage is particularly good in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation.
