Champagne Salon

Maison Salon Champagne is a French house founded in 1920 by Eugène-Aimé Salon. Unlike other Champagnes from the region, Maison Salon crafts its Champagnes without blending, focusing on a single grape variety: Chardonnay.

It was in 1905 that founder Aimé Salon produced 'Le Mesnil-sur-Oger' using a single grape variety: Chardonnay, and from a single growth and vintage: 1905. An iconic and prestigious wine. Long kept for himself, it wasn't until 1920 that he decided to commercialize this wine and establish his estate.

Today, the Champagne production remains the same: crafted with grapes from the best Chardonnay plots for a 100% Chardonnay wine. Maison Salon still produces a single Champagne from a 1-hectare plot 'Jardins du Salon' and 19 other plots in Mesnil-sur-Oger. The Champagnes are aged for ten years in the cellar before revealing their complexity and finesse. Throughout the 20th century, the House produced 37 vintages. Among the greatest successes, the House counts the vintages 1905, 1966, 1995, 1996, 1997...

Maison Salon Champagne was acquired by the Laurent-Perrier group, which also owns the Champagne house Delamotte with whom Salon shares its premises.
