Champagne Roederer

The Roederer Champagne House is located in Reims. Founded in Reims in 1776, Roederer is one of the few great Champagne houses still owned by the founding family.

With an exceptional terroir, the vineyard is ideally located near the Montagne de Reims, in the Marne Valley and on the Côte des Blancs. The vineyard covers 240 hectares, primarily managed under biodynamic principles. The three coexisting grape varieties are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.

For a tasting, we recommend the Roederer Cristal 2012 or the Roederer Brut Rosé 2014, rated 17/20 by expert Jancis Robinson.

In the glass, Roederer moves in a golden atmosphere, carrying little matter. First come youthful aromas of lemon and freshly cut white flowers. Then vanilla rises from the glass. Finally, with age, Roederer releases complex aromas of caramel and chocolate. Its true signature. The secret of these rich and complex aromas? It lies in the liqueur de tirage, this precious nectar added directly to the Champagne bottles during their ageing. Roederer's liqueur comes exclusively from the finest wines of the house vineyard, deliberately forgotten in oak barrels for four to ten years. Tasted pure and alone, these nectars could rival the greatest white Burgundies. On the palate, the connoisseur remains fascinated by this great dancer's wine with its nervous and slim body. A dream of superlative elegance, of a brilliant celebration that will never end. In the rhythmic whirlwind of movement and dance. The imperial celebration resurrected. A swirling and enchanting waltz.
