Our opinion on the 1903 vintage: a complicated vintage. The beginning of the century was difficult in Bordeaux, particularly in 1903, which proved to be in the same vein as the two previous vintages. Despite abundant harvests, the quality of the wine was affected by a cold and poorly sunny year. As a result, it is currently difficult to find Bordeaux wines from that year as merchants quickly sought to sell them off, given their lack of interest over time. The 1903 Sauternes experienced similar quality issues, making their availability very rare.

In Burgundy, the 1903 vintage did not help the region, which was already in crisis. The wines produced that year are described as flat and bony, and the rare available testimonies are hardly flattering.

In Burgundy, the 1903 vintage did little to help a region already in crisis. The wines produced that year are described as flat and lacking structure, and the few accounts available are hardly flattering.

The 1903 Champagne vintage was not a great success either, although it was better than the previous two. The major Champagne houses did not venture to release vintage Champagne that year.

Finally, in the Rhône Valley and elsewhere in France, the wines of 1903 are not particularly memorable.
