The crus classés de Graves represent the elite of wines from southern Bordeaux, renowned for their elegance and balance. From the official 1959 classification, they comprise 16 châteaux located on the finest terroirs of Pessac-Léognan, including the legendary Château Haut-Brion, the only one also classified in 1855 in the Médoc classification. These wines, red or white, combine power, finesse and aromatic complexity. The classified Graves offer aromas of ripe fruit, spices and gunflint for the reds, whilst the whites are distinguished by their freshness and floral and mineral notes.

The crus classés de Graves embody a perfect alliance between tradition and modernity. Located south of Bordeaux, on terroirs rich in gravel and sand, these wines are distinguished by their unique balance between power, finesse and minerality. They are the noblest expression of the Graves vineyard, the historic cradle of great Bordeaux wines.
The classification of the Crus Classés de Graves, established in 1959 by the INAO, recognises 16 exceptional châteaux for the consistent quality of their wines. Unique in its kind, this classification distinguishes both red wines and white wines, reflecting the dual expertise of the appellation.
Unlike the 1855 classification, it does not establish an internal hierarchy: each classified estate embodies an essential reference of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, the historic heart of Graves.
Among these prestigious châteaux, the legendary Château Haut-Brion dominates, being the only one to also feature in the 1855 classification. It embodies the perfect balance between power, finesse and longevity. Alongside it, other great names perpetuate the excellence of Graves: La Mission Haut-Brion, Smith Haut Lafitte, Carbonnieux, Bouscaut, Malartic-Lagravière and Latour-Martillac.
Each cru classé expresses a unique personality, shaped by a terroir of deep gravel and precision viticulture.
The crus classés de Graves are renowned for their exceptional ageing potential. Some, such as Haut-Brion or La Mission Haut-Brion, improve over several decades, developing aromas of truffle, cedar and honey. True works of time, these wines also represent a safe investment for collectors and investors passionate about great Bordeaux wines.
