1979 Wine
The 1979 vintage offers us wines with great aging potential.
In Bordeaux, despite the cold year, yields are good and the quality of the wines is excellent. Pronounced tannins and a nice acidity mean that the wines have excellent aging potential. Margaux, Graves and Pomerol stand out a bit. Among the best wines of this vintage, we recommend Château Cos d'Estournel 1979, Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse 1979, Château Gruaud Larose 1979, Château Margaux 1979, La Mission Haut Brion 1979 and Petrus 1979...
In Burgundy, the weather conditions are stormy, which has not spared certain wines. Although there are significant differences, there are some very fine successes. The best domain of 1979 is the Domaine de La Romanée Conti 1979. In Champagne, the vintage is exceptional from its inception.
