Château informations
Château Boyd Cantenac is a wine estate in Bordeaux. Located in the commune of Cantenac in Gironde, the château produces its wines under the Margaux appellation (AOC). Jacques Boyd, Joséphine de Boyd and La Croix de Boyd-Cantenac are the three second wines of Château Boyd Cantenac.
The grand vin of Boyd Cantenac (for recent vintages) is dark, dense, with a complex nose where fruit competes with tertiary aromas from ageing and bottle maturation. On the palate, the attack is smooth and progressive, followed by a sensation of volume that fills and coats the mouth. The finish, with its well-present tannins, guarantees excellent ageing potential.
The best vintages of Château Boyd Cantenac are the 1947 vintage, great growths of 1953, the 1961 vintage, and the classified growths of 1982. Finally, the 2000 vintage and the 2005 wines are excellent.
