The millennium ends beautifully with this exceptional 2000 vintage which has become legendary in Bordeaux. However, the year didn't start well, with a dreadful spring followed by a wet and cool June and July. This was followed by 2 months that were very beautiful, hot and dry. The result is the most immense wines, dark in color, concentrated, powerful and tannic. Very successful wines in Médoc and exceptional Saint Emilion and Pomerol. The best wines of this vintage are: Château Palmer 2000, Château Haut Brion 2000, Château Mouton Rothschild 2000, Petrus 2000, Château Ausone 2000, Château Cheval Blanc 2000, Château Pavie 2000 and Château La Conseillante 2000...

In Burgundy, the winemakers were also impacted by the complicated spring but it resulted in beautiful white Burgundy wines. As for the red wines, the quality is slightly below par. The most successful wines can be found in Burgundy grand crus and Burgundy premier crus. Finally, in the Rhône Valley, the Cornas and Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellations wines show potential.
