Château Latour à Pomerol. After establishing itself in the 40s, 50s and 60s as one of the most sumptuous Bordeaux wines, Latour à Pomerol went through a difficult period, producing in the following 3 decades wines that were very good but not exceptional. In recent years, the estate has improved and rejoined the group of the top twenty best Pomerol wines. In style, it is more reminiscent of Trotanoy or La Fleur Petrus, to which it was generally compared during its glory days. The wines of Latour à Pomerol are remarkably colored and dark, and generally stand out as powerful, opulent and fleshy Pomerol wines. The vineyard consists of 2 plots, one of which is located near the church of Pomerol, on a bed of deep gravel, and the other, smaller one, on a more sandy and lighter soil
