Wine Enthusiast January - 2003

In 2000, this was still the property of Lily Lacoste, who also owned Pétrus. Latour à Pomerol was sold in 2001 to a Catholic charity. The management, then and now, is with the Moueix family who make the most of the fabulous vineyard. The 2000 is a hugely opulent, velvet textured wine, but it retains hints of the elegance that is the hallmark of this property.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Medium-bodied, soft, elegant, refined and silky expression of ripe cherries, plums, truffle and chocolate. This is probably close to full maturity, though there is no hurry to drink it.

Jean-Marc Quarin January - 2011

The colour is dark, but less so than the 2001. The nose is intense, with notes of white truffle. It is aromatic and livelier than 2001, but also a little more complex. The palate is slightly austere even though there is richness. It develops on a smoky aroma and finishes with good length on the palate with slightly firm tannins.

Château Latour À Pomerol
Château Latour à Pomerol. After establishing itself in the 40s, 50s and 60s as one of the most sumptuous Bordeaux wines, Latour à Pomerol experienced a difficult period, producing in the following 3 decades wines that were only very good, not exceptional. In recent years, the cru has improved and rejoined the group of the top twenty Pomerol wines. In style, it is more reminiscent of Trotanoy or La Fleur Petrus, to which it was generally compared during its heyday. The wines of Latour à Pomerol are remarkably coloured and dark, and generally stand out as powerful, opulent and fleshy Pomerols. The vineyard is composed of 2 plots, one of which is located near the church of Pomerol, on a bed of deep gravel, and the other, smaller one, on a sandier and lighter soil
