Domaine Georges Roumier

The Roumier estate is an estate that produces Burgundy wines. Founded in 1924 by Georges Roumier, then reprisals since the beginning of the 1980s by Christophe Roumier who had joined his father Jean Marie Roumier. Located in the town of Chambolle Musigny, the estate covers nearly 12 hectares of vineyards. The harvest is traditionally carried out by hand and the grape varieties that are produced are pinot noir for red wines and chardonnay for white wines.

The Roumier estate is not certified organic and does not seek the label, however it does not use any chemicals in its vines. The limestone and clay-limestone soils favor and characterize the estate‘s terroir. The Roumier estate produces five Burgundy grands crus: Bonne Mares, Musigny, Charmes Chambertin, Ruchottes Chambertin and Corton Charlemagne in white wine.

The star wine of the Roumier estate is the Musigny grand cru. A wine with growing fame from the Côte de Nuits.

The cultivation of the vines is traditional and the use of fertilizers and herbicides is prohibited. The grapes are harvested and sorted by hand.
