Our opinion on the 1912 vintage: a satisfactory vintage overall. The 1912 vintage is of average quality in the Bordeaux region. Weather conditions were variable, with a warm May while August was cool. The red wines of Bordeaux are soft and delicate but not suitable for long aging. The 1912 red wines from the Burgundy wine region are highly sought after today. Long forgotten or even neglected, the red wines are frank in taste, fruity and with character. Unfortunately, in Burgundy, frost compromised the vintage, rendering the wines uninteresting. In Champagne, the yield doubled, but quality decreased. Only the Piper-Heidsieck house offers a 1912 vintage. Finally, in the Rhône Valley, the 1912 vintage is average, and like the 1912 Bordeaux wines, they do not have a great capacity for aging.
