Generally speaking, the 2022 vintage was marked by summer drought and climatic hazards, but this did not prevent most French regions from achieving respectable volumes after particularly lean years.

The 2022 Bordeaux wine is a great success with red wines reaching a remarkable quality level. The sweet wines, although slightly more varied, are sometimes superb.

The 2022 red Burgundy wines, from north to south, are generally very successful, displaying a deep color, dense flesh and intensely fruity aromatic profiles.

Regarding Rhône wines, it's not surprising that the whites, as in Condrieu, are endowed with fleshy matter and lack a bit of acidity but have a charming aromatic profile with spicy notes. The 2022 Rhône red wines generally present a concentrated profile without falling into the excessive ripeness observed in previous solar vintages like 2003.

Alsace wines show a beautiful richness which will allow them to be enjoyed rather quickly. The Gewurztraminer and Muscat wines display a certain aromatic power, offering often broad wines, while the Rieslings have managed to maintain a nice freshness and therefore interesting balance. For red wines, the Pinot Noirs have reached good maturity, often offering juices with great fruity intensity and ripe, structuring tannins.
