DUC TRIBERT CONFRERIE DES CHEVALIERS DU TASTEVIN 1986
- New
Burgundy covers the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune, the Côte Chalonnaise and the Mâconnais. From Dijon to Mâcon, the wines are known as single-varietal, with reds made from Pinot Noir and whites from Chardonnay. Today known worldwide, great names contribute very strongly to the global reputation of French wines: Domaine de la Romanée Conti, Henri Jayer, Armand Rousseau, Domaine Comte de Vogue... The highly fragmented vineyard and Burgundy crus follow a hierarchical classification based on qualitative criteria. Regional appellations, communal AOCs (known as 'villages'), Premiers Crus (635 climats: Aux Murgers, Les Pucelles, Les Cras...), and finally the Grands Crus (33 in total: Echézeaux, Richebourg, Romanée-Conti, Clos des Lambrays...) constitute the 4 levels of the pyramid. It was the monks over the centuries who shaped, studied, and exploited the lands, establishing the climats and crus we know today. The great vintages in Burgundy for red wines are 1906, 1911, 1919, 1928, 1929, 1934, 1945, 1947, 1949, 1959, 1969, 1990, 1996, 2005, 2009.
