Clos de Vougeot is an appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) and one of the most prestigious Grands Crus of Burgundy, located at the heart of the Côte de Nuits. This historic vineyard of nearly 50 hectares, entirely enclosed by walls, is shared among more than 80 owners. It produces great red wines made exclusively from Pinot Noir, renowned for their structure, depth and remarkable ageing potential. Among the most celebrated estates of the appellation are Domaine Méo-Camuzet, Domaine Drouhin Laroze and Domaine Bouchard Ainé et Fils. The wines of Clos de Vougeot captivate with their aromas of black fruits, flowers, spices and undergrowth, which gain in complexity over time. The finest vintages can be kept for 15 to more than 30 years. The appellation is also famous for the Château du Clos de Vougeot, a historic monument and symbol of Burgundian viticultural heritage.
