Vosne-Romanée is an appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) in Burgundy established in 1936, situated at the heart of the prestigious Côte de Nuits. Renowned for its great Burgundy red wines made exclusively from Pinot Noir, it extends across the communes of Vosne-Romanée and Flagey-Échezeaux. The vineyard covers more than 154 hectares, of which nearly 57 hectares are classified as Burgundy Premiers Crus, among which are the celebrated Les Suchots, Les Malconsorts and Aux Brûlées. The appellation is also neighbour to several Burgundy Grands Crus known the world over, including Romanée-Conti, Richebourg and La Tâche. Vosne-Romanée wines generally offer an ageing potential of 5 to 15 years, or even longer for the finest vintages. Among the most sought-after years are the 1952, 1978, 1985, 1989, 1990 and 2009 wine vintages, particularly appreciated by lovers of old vintages and collectors of great Burgundy wines.
