The Comte Liger-Belair wine estate has existed for over 200 years. Several decades of family tradition in the service of the vineyard and wines of Vosne-Romanée, previously managed by Maison Leroy and Bouchard Père et Fils. However, Count Louis-Michel had the ambition to take over the operation and vineyards, which consisted of 1.5 hectares of family vines (Vosne-Romanée La Colombière, Vosne-Romanée Clos du Château, Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru Les Chaumes).

It was therefore in 2000 that Count Louis-Michel took control of the entire production, from the vine to the bottle, bringing the same attention to all the vines and all the wines, from Villages to Burgundy Grand Crus. In 2002, the Count took over an additional 1.6 hectares (Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru Aux Reignots, La Romanée Grand Cru Monopole).

The vines have been managed using organic farming methods and biodynamics since 2008 (certified by Biodyvin in 2012).
