In Bordeaux, the 1997 wines are very good overall. 1997 was a year with very changeable weather: a rainy spring and a tropical summer, which accelerated the harvest that began as early as August 15th. Bordeaux red wines are fruity and balanced. Among the best wines of this vintage, we recommend Château Haut Brion 1997, Château Mouton Rothschild 1997, Château Latour 1997, Petrus 1997... The northern appellations (Cornas, Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage) offer the best wines of this vintage, such as Auguste Clape 1997. Also notable are some beautiful wines from Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
