Jane Anson - Inside Bordeaux
A difficult vintage, and we needed a second bottle to discover all its charm. So beware of variations. The healthy bottle revealed a lot of character: tobacco leaf, old books, loganberry fruits, balance and deliciousness. Ready to drink, with great pleasure, this wine is really at its best, juicy, discreet, subtle and delicious. Fingers crossed for a good bottle. Consultant Pascal Ribereau-Gayon.

Fully mature and ready to enjoy now with tannins that are sandy in texture. This is a fairly light vintage for Giscours and the flavors are already starting to fade.

Bordeaux red. Medium intensity. Lively. Clean. Medium intensity. Fruity. Fine oak. Similar. Note of cherry à la Michel Rolland. Very pleasant wine, with lots of smoothness, no disturbing taste and a light body. It goes down on its own and with great ease. With this vintage, the cru no longer has its angular aspects and gains in frankness on the nose.

Château Giscours
Château Giscours

Château Giscours is a Bordeaux wine estate located in Labarde in the Gironde. Château Giscours produces wines under the Margaux AOC. It is among the Third Growth classified in the official 1855 Bordeaux wine classification, and is one of the largest estates in the Médoc. The vineyard covers nearly 86 hectares on a 300-hectare property. Giscours thus continues the legacy of generations of winemakers, making this estate a world-renowned Grand Cru.

Note the existence of a flawless second wine: La Sirène de Giscours.

The best vintages of Giscours are the 1945 wines, the 1961, 1982 and 1989 vintages which are excellent. Finally, the 1990 vintage, the grand crus from 2000 and 2009 as well as the 2015 vintage are among the Château's finest achievements.
