Our opinion on the 1905 vintage: a rather satisfactory vintage. In Bordeaux, the wines of the 1905 vintage are successful. The harvest was substantial in quantity and the weather conditions were favourable for vine cultivation, allowing the grapes to ripen in optimal conditions. As a result, the red wines are balanced, elegant and supple. The sweet wines of Sauternes from 1905 are of average quality.

In Burgundy, the 1905 vintage was marked by good weather conditions, which resulted in an abundant harvest. However, despite this abundance, the quality of the vintage did not meet expectations. Generally, the 1905 Burgundy wines are therefore not considered to be of exceptional quality.

In the Rhône Valley, it is considered a satisfactory vintage. Weather conditions were favourable for vine cultivation, with a hot and dry summer that allowed the grapes to ripen properly. The 1905 Rhône wines are quite full-bodied and concentrated.

The year 1905 was difficult for Champagne wines due to hail and diseases in the vineyards, which resulted in a reduced harvest and average quality of the remaining grapes.
