The debate between 1928 and 1929 is still relevant today. These are two beautiful vintages and it is very difficult to determine which is the best. In 1928, the harvest in Bordeaux was good and the grape maturity was perfect. The wines, deep, full-bodied, rich in alcohol and tannic, are built for aging. The best wines from this 1928 vintage are still superb today; we particularly recommend Château Latour 1928, Château Haut Brion 1928, Petrus 1928, Château Cos d'Estournel 1928, Château Beychevelle 1928 and Château d'Yquem 1928. The 1928 wines from Burgundy are very good: fine and solid with a firm structure. Although weather conditions were unstable with unexpected hailstorms, it was a very good year. The Rhône Valley also offers excellent wines and proves to be a foretaste of the incredible 1929 vintage.
