Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey is a Bordeaux wine estate that produces sweet wines from Sauternes. The great Classified wine First Growth of Sauternes. The vineyard covers 18 hectares located on the high terrace of Graves with Sémillon (93%), Sauvignon (6%) and only 1% Muscadelle grape varieties. The plots of "L'Enclos" and "Maisons Rouges" represent the historical heart and terroir of the Château. In addition to its classified growth, the estate produces a second wine 'La Chapelle de Lafaurie-Peyraguey'.

Rich, fine and unctuous, the classified growth Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey is one of the jewels of the Sauternes appellation. The best vintages are 1983, 1986, and the 1989 vintage. Finally, for old Sauternes we recommend the Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey 1928 and the Lafaurie-Peyraguey 1937 which are excellent.

The manual harvesting of grapes through extremely strict successive selections (4 to 7 depending on the year) based on the spread of maturity levels, is carried out with the aim of picking only grapes that have reached the required concentration level under the action of noble rot — also known as Botrytis cinerea — and to preserve the desired aromatic precision. Depending on the vintage, certain plots are sacrificed in order to focus on those with the highest quality potential.
