Jancis Robinson March - 2019
Jancis Robinson
Light ruby colour. Here the red fruit is a little richer and sweeter than on the Pinot Fin and the fragrance is wonderfully lifted. It's pretty but there's also good depth of fruit and a light sprinkling of spice, as well as the freshness but not the herbal character of stems. Firmer, darker and more compact on the palate than I expected, the tannins like layers of paper, giving a firmness but no friction. Gently savoury and spiced on the long finish. Darker beauty and immense finesse. (JH)

Pure, light and lifted with savoury herbs and mixed red berry fruit. Tannins are delicate and light with the flavours coming through in the finish.

Domaine Arnoux Lachaux

The Domaine Robert Arnoux has existed since 1858 and first belonged to Charles Arnoux. For over fifty years, the estate bore the name of Robert Arnoux (son of Charles Arnoux who succeeded him) before being renamed Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux when his daughter Florence took over the family business.

Since 1995, Florence Arnoux and her husband Pascal Lachaux have been striving to preserve the heritage of their vineyards and produce the best wine from vintage to vintage.

Aware of the richness of their terroir and always in pursuit of excellence, the Arnoux-Lachaux family strives to preserve winemaking traditions: the soils are ploughed by a draft horse, harvesting is done by hand, and grape selection is rigorous. Today, the estate identifies with respect for the environment by cultivating its 14.5 hectares of vineyards biodynamically.
