On the palate, the wine is long, rich, silky, fresh, and loaded with layers of dark cocoa-covered plums, liquorice and black cherries. There is more richness than you normally find here, along with silky-tannins, lift, and opulence in the finish. A bit more Cabernet in the blend really made a difference this year. The wine blends 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink from 2026-2042.

Château Certan De May
The Certan de May vineyard, one of the highest in the appellation, adjoins Petrus. The Certan de May vineyard is composed of old vines, with an average age of thirty years, planted on clay-gravel soil. Harvested late and thus benefiting from the full maturity of the grapes, this Pomerol proves to be of a very high standard. Its very balanced, rich and complex wines combine woody and fruity aromas (cherries, blackcurrant,... ). The ageing potential is impressive in great vintages.
