A glorious La Tache that is focused and pure, just singing from the bottle. This 13 year old La Tache is tightly wound and one can feel the power and color this wine can express, but there is enough now to show its potential and breeding. Bravo to the long, lingering finish.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
The 2000 La Tâche Grand Cru is showing extraordinarily well, and I can only assume that the comparatively parsimonious appreciation it has received from other wine critics is owing to insecurity concerning awarding a high score to a wine from an "off vintage." Soaring from the glass with a deep and complex bouquet of wilted rose petals, sweet wild berry fruit, exotic spices, orange rind and violets, it's full-bodied, sensual and enveloping, with a deep and layered core of fruit, melting tannins, succulent acids and a long, sapid finish. Fully mature, the 2000 is one of the most rewarding recent vintages of La Tâche to drink today.

Jean-Marc Quarin May - 2010

Very evolved colour. Very fine and subtle nose, with aromas of fruit, smoke, and coffee. A very smooth note reminiscent of cherry brings to mind Pinot. Superb entry on the palate, smooth, then the wine presents a texture of great softness. It melts on the palate with grace, but shows a touch of sparkle. Very beautiful length, on a grain of royal tannin. This is great wine.

Allen Meadow - Burghound November - 2019
Allen Meadow - Burghound
While there is a bit of lightening at the rim, this remains relatively deeply coloured. This possesses a classic La Tâche nose of dried rose petals plus a fantastic array of dark fruit and spice-tinged aromas. The fine, detailed and beautifully textured, indeed velvety broad-shouldered flavours possess impressive mid-palate concentration as well as terrific length on the still markedly firm and mouth coating finish. While this is certainly a highly enjoyable wine now, it's also one that is very clearly still positively evolving. Tasted multiple times with mostly consistent notes though somewhat curiously, I find some bottles less complex than others.

Tom Cannavan January - 2009

Fantastically perfumed, with notes of root ginger, beautiful floral edges, a touch of cherry and a little green leafiness. The palate is pretty tight, the fruit silky textured, this has terrific elegance and tight extremely refined iron oxide minerality.

Domaine Romanée Conti
Domaine Romanée Conti

The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is one of the most emblematic wine estates in Burgundy and an absolute reference amongst the great wines of the world. Its history is intimately linked to the greatest climats of Vosne-Romanée, of which it is the exclusive or quasi-exclusive custodian. The estate notably cultivates exceptional grands crus, including Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Grands Échézeaux, Échézeaux, as well as the celebrated Montrachet for white wines.

The Romanée-Conti, a climat classified as Grand Cru, forms the historical and symbolic heart of the estate. Owned by the domaine since the 18th century, this monopole vineyard embodies an exacting vision of wine, founded on precision, faithfulness to the terroir and extremely rigorous viticulture. The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is renowned for its constant pursuit of balance and purity of expression, favouring very low yields and meticulous vineyard work.

Emblematic vintages such as Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1942, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1964, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1985, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1986, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1990, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2000, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2005, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2006, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2011, illustrate the estate's ability to produce wines of remarkable depth, capable of spanning decades whilst maintaining an exceptional legibility of their origin. The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti thus remains an essential reference for understanding the excellence and singularity of the great wines of Burgundy.
