Wine Enthusiast January - 2003
Wine Enthusiast
Under the direction of its new owner, Prieuré-Lichine continues its rapid qualitative improvement. The wine is concentrated, with deep tannins and intense fruit, dominated by new oak. It is rich, but also structured, for steady evolution over 10 to 15 years.

Wine Spectator March - 2003
Wine Spectator
A young and solid red, with ample and velvety tannins, notes of ripe fruit, tobacco and chocolate. Long and fresh finish. One of the best Prieuré-Lichine in a very long time.

La Revue du Vin de France January - 2003
La Revue du Vin de France
RVF Magazine Beautiful notes of ripe fruit and menthol on the palate. A Margaux of modern spirit, with a creamy texture and seductive ageing that is not yet fully integrated. Worth waiting for.

Falstaff November - 2010
Falstaff
Intense ruby garnet, delicately lightened rim. Restrained, delicate spices, a hint of chocolate, needs some air. Medium body, taut, slightly acidic, the tannins appear somewhat rustic, citrusy and of red fruits, slightly astringent finish.

Jancis Robinson February - 2005
Jancis Robinson
Very deep purple robe. Explosive nose (interesting!), but rather loose and shapeless palate. Unfortunately, it does not seize the opportunities of the vintage, but lends itself well to early tasting.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
This is ready, willing and able to serve up a nice dose of black cherries, tobacco, cigar box and earthy notes. The texture is soft, smooth and round, the finish could be longer, but this elegant wine is in the perfect, sweet spot for drinking.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Undeniably the finest Prieure-Lichine in 30-40 years, this textured, rich, medium to full-bodied 2000 boasts a dark ruby/purple color in addition to a knock-out nose of black cherries, cassis, tobacco leaf, cocoa, and toasty oak in the background. The wine is sweet on the attack, full-bodied, and well-textured, with oodles of fruit and glycerin. This is sexy stuff that can be drunk early, but will age gracefully for 15-16 years.
