the 1979 Branaire has a full-intensity, spicy, cedary, ripe black currant bouquet. On the palate, the wine is soft, supple, with generous silky fruitiness, light to moderate tannins, and good length and weight. A very stylish, round, elegant wine.

Château informations
Branaire Ducru
Banaire Ducru is on a parcel of 50 hectares located on the gravel soil of Beychevelle, Chateau Ducru-Branaire is now a landmark in St. Julien. The cru is prized for its pure red fruit. Its typical composition of Cabernet Sauvignon in the majority, and Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, opens with bright aromas of raspberry and blackberry, before becoming more complex on the palate with delicate nuances of mineral, pencil lead, smoke and spring flowers. This wine of exemplary quality differs from its famous neighbor by its originality: tasting reveals inevitably, under the red fruit and elegant tannins, a touch of spice and chocolate aroma rare in this appellation.
