Château Clos René is a Bordeaux wine estate located in the commune of Pomerol in Gironde. Clos René is a family estate that has been passed down from generation to generation. Château Clos René produces its wines under the Pomerol appellation, therefore it is not included in any Bordeaux classifications. With only 15 hectares of vines, the vineyard located on the western plateau of Pomerol has a rich terroir with ancient gravel and sandy soils. The grape varieties are predominantly Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec.

Although it doesn't belong to any classification, Clos René remains a quality wine, particularly due to the consistency of its cuvées. The wines are elegant, woody, fruity with well-pronounced tannins. You can focus on great Bordeaux vintages such as 1945, 1961, Clos René 1982 or the 1989 vintage. Finally, the Clos René 1990 is remarkable.
