Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Nearly scary in its intensity and over-the-top liqueur of stones and minerals is the 2003 Ermitage l’Ermite blanc. I’ll keep my tasting notes brief as there are less than 60 cases of this extraordinary wine. It represents the essence of marmalade, citrus oil, white flowers, and minerals. This great dry white wine is undoubtedly 2-3 times more concentrated than the greatest Montrachets I have ever tasted.

This rushes at you, with pear tartine, coconut, sweet butter, mango and honey notes. Just as you think you've got it figured out, it zooms on by with another wave of mineral, hazelnut and fresh apricot flavors. The texture is like porcelain, and the finish is long, to put it mildly. Forget the college fund; treat yourself. Drink now through 2030.

Oxidized orange hue. Nose smells like Sauternes, orange rind, beeswax. Pnp, got better over the 1.5 hours I enjoyed my glass, though this bottle not in the best condition.

M. Chapoutier
M. Chapoutier
Since 1808, the name Chapoutier has existed in the Rhone Valley. The distant ancestor Polydor Chapoutier began by buying some vines then becoming winemaker then grower, breeder and negociant. The pioneering spirit was already in the family.  Since 1990, Michel, is leading this exceptional company. A land rich in history and traditions. Passionate expression of soils, Michael gives his convictions ways to thrive. History of time. As is true for each element of nature. Time and the earth. Roots, the vine and the fruit. This is where the richness and generosity of the Maison M. Chapoutier begins.
