Tasting Notes: A moderate year both in terms of climate and produced volumes and final quality. Note that there was a morning frost on September 23, and the harvest began on October 1. There was some rot at the time of picking. The juice was not very promising. It produced wines with a thin texture, but generally homogeneous.

Grape Variety/Blend: Cabernet Sauvignon (~75%), Merlot (~23%), Cabernet Franc (~2%), Petit Verdot (~2%) (variations may occur from one vintage to another)

Ageing: The wine is aged in new oak barrels, renewed each year.

Food and Wine Pairing: Château Latour wines pair perfectly with beef, game, and poultry in general. We can also mention dishes such as truffle omelette, Pauillac milk-fed lamb, or porcini mushroom ravioli. As for cheeses, Maroilles will pair perfectly with this red wine.

Château Latour
Château Latour

Château Latour is one of the most iconic estates in the Pauillac appellation and a founding reference in Bordeaux wine history. Its name dates back to the 14th century, linked to the presence of a watchtower on the Gironde estuary, whose proximity continues to profoundly mark the identity of the vineyard. From the 18th century onwards, the wines of Château Latour have been recognised for their consistency and ageing ability, establishing themselves among the greatest wines of the Médoc.

Classified as a Premier Grand Cru Classé in the official 1855 classification, Château Latour occupies a central position at the pinnacle of the Bordeaux hierarchy. The estate is built upon particularly homogeneous deep gravel terroir, dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, which gives the wines a powerful structure, remarkable depth and great consistency of expression.

The signature of Château Latour is distinguished by a dense tannic architecture and demanding construction, favouring precision and longevity over immediate appeal. Iconic vintages such as Château Latour 1945, Château Latour 1961, Château Latour 1990, Château Latour 1996, Château Latour 2000 and Château Latour 2009 illustrate the estate's ability to consistently express the excellence of the Pauillac terroir and the singularity of its style.
