If several bottles are in stock, the photo is non-contractual and illustrates the condition of the bottle.

Tasting Notes: The wines are dense, with candied, wild, almost exotic aromas for Latour. Opulent in their youth, they remain rich, powerful and very concentrated, particularly marked by the vintage conditions.

Grape Variety/Blend: Cabernet Sauvignon (~75%), Merlot (~23%), Cabernet Franc (~2%), Petit Verdot (~2%) (variations may occur from one vintage to another)

Ageing: The wine is aged in new oak barrels, renewed each year.

Maturity: (2019 - 2035) - Ready to drink or keep

Food and Wine Pairing: Château Latour wines pair perfectly with beef, game and poultry in general. We can also mention dishes such as truffle omelette, Pauillac milk-fed lamb or cep ravioli. As for cheeses, Maroilles will pair perfectly with this red wine.

Colour of medium intensity and evolved. Moderately aromatic and fruity nose. Once again the body is medium, but the flavour very original. It is this that invades the palate and gives interest to this wine, but the body does not follow.

A shy Latour that is structured, filled with tobacco, cocoa and black tea flavors. Despite being decanted for over an hour, this bottle of 1989 is still retrained and not that expressive. The finish is long and the tannins, though high, are very well handled.

Full, round, soft. Not so dense or typically Latour as I expected. Edge of minerality.

Rich and round wine. Full-bodied, with very good fruit and long velvety tannins. Needs more time. Round and rich. This is always outstanding and underrated by many.

Château Latour
Château Latour

Château Latour is a Bordeaux wine estate producing wines under the Pauillac appellation. First Growth in the Official Bordeaux Wine Classification created in 1855. It is undeniably a reference in the Médoc.

Created around 1680, the Château Latour vineyard is one of the oldest in the Médoc. At the heart of the estate, the main plot, called "l'Enclos", consists of 47 hectares of old vines that are preciously maintained, as they are the only ones capable of giving birth to the "Grand Vin". The 18 hectares of external plots, vine stocks less than 10 years old and potentially declassified wines produce the estate's second wine, "Les Forts de Latour". Château Latour wine is an example of consistency regardless of the vintage quality. Firm, tannic and concentrated in its youth...

Latour is the very example of excellence, in both good and bad years. Among the greatest vintages, the château's finest achievements: 1920, 1929, 1949, 1955, 1959, 1961, 1970, 1982, 1990, 2000.
