CHÂTEAU MOUTON ROTHSCHILD 1982

John Huston, a talented painter, produced the etiquette of Château Mouton Rothschild. A light and airy watercolor that highlights the ram, one of the symbols of the Château, the sun and the vineyards. His dedication to Baron Philippe de Rothschild: "In my homage to my very dear friend, Baron Philippe for his sixtieth harvest at Mouton", testifies to his friendship for a man, and his attachment to a place whose magic had known the seduce.
Château Mouton Rothschild 1982 reveals aromas of gingerbread, menthol and very ripe fruit as well as a few touches of cinnamon. It is a powerful, ample, round, seductive and charming wine. This Premier Cru Classé is made from 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 7% Merlot.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Mouton Rothschild 1982 is drinking brilliantly today, soaring from the glass with aromas of cassis, dark berry fruit, charcoal, pencil shavings, espresso roast and loamy soil. Full-bodied, ample and enveloping, it's a layered, sumptuous wine that's remarkably seamless and complete, with impressive concentration, ripe but lively acids and fine, melting tannins. Long and resonant, this is a great wine that can keep company with the likes of Mouton's 1961, 1959 and 1955.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Texturally, this opulent, showy, supple, lush wine, which manages to harness an incredible depth of fruit feels just great as it rests on your palate. The finish crosses the sixty-second mark with ease. I suspect well-stored bottles will be even better with another 5 years or so and should remain at their extraordinary level for at least another 2 - 3 decades after that.

Falstaff January - 2019
Falstaff
Dark ruby garnet, almost black core, delicate watery rim. On the nose, wonderful blackberry compote, floral hints, spicy, fine cassis, a touch of nougat, typical Florentine touch. On the palate, perfectly balanced, elegant and extract-sweet, shows a firm, robust tannic core, mineral-saline, very good length, some velour, nougat and blackberries on the finish, a great wine with perfect finish, nougat on the aftertaste.

This Mouton wasn't just singing from the bottle, it was joyfully dancing at the same time. Expressive, exuberant and delicious - a wine that is at its ultimate peak drinking window now. A joy to taste and enjoy - it is hard not to smile when drinking this wine.

Château Mouton Rothschild
Château Mouton Rothschild

Mouton Rothschild is undoubtedly one of the most famous wine estates in the world. In the Pauillac AOC, it has been a First Growth since 1973 in the official 1855 Bordeaux wine classification.

Purchased in 1853 by Nathaniel de Rothschild, Brane Mouton entered into legend under the name of Château Mouton-Rothschild. It was with the arrival of Baron Philippe de Rothschild that Mouton truly became the monumental 1st Growth that it is today. Mouton Rothschild 1945 and 1982 are among their finest vintages. Beyond the construction of cellars and buildings, and the accession to First Growth status, it is the passion of a lifetime found in action by this exceptional man.

Classified as Second Growth in 1855, Château Mouton Rothschild became First Growth in 1973. Its motto "First I cannot be, second I do not deign, Mouton I am" thus became "First I am, second I was, Mouton does not change".

The elegance and magic of this wine have thus charmed the greatest contemporary artists who, each year, illustrate Mouton's priceless wines by creating an original artwork on the label. Château D'Armailhac and Château Clerc Milon follow in the footsteps of this quality commitment from the Rothschild family.

The great vintages of Château Mouton Rothschild are: 1994, 1989, 1986, 1985, 1983, 1982, 1970, 1966, 1962, 1961, 1959, 1955, 1953, 1949, 1947, 1945
