Red brick colour, leather, cigar box, coffee, on the palate balanced with the tertiary flavours in evidence. Not really past the drinking window but sure going to the edge of it. Anyway a good wine and in excellent shape if you consider the 47 years!

Hence the care given to Château Pape Clément and to this terroir whose exceptional virtues have made Pessac's reputation for more than 7 centuries. At Pape Clément, pruning and leaf removal are of rare demanding standards, as is the hand-sorting of grapes. The winemaking and aging methods carried out at Pape Clément follow very strict rules. Everything is done at Château Pape Clément to allow nature to express its best without hindrance.
