This is a great success for Haut-Bailly, superior to the 2005. Dark, intense and slightly evolved colour. Superb suave and subtle nose. Smooth, fragrant, flavoursome, balanced palate, developing into a noble, melting power, with great quality tannins in the persistence.

This vintage could not be different from the 2005 which is more powerful and focused. But this vintage still has its charm – attractive aromatics, elegant body and great balance. Layers of cedar, cassis and savoury spices on the palate with a lingering finish. Ready now for those who enjoy young Bordeaux but it will keep for a few decades easily.

Château Haut Bailly

Château Haut-Bailly is a Bordeaux wine estate that produces Graves Grand Cru Classé wines in the Pessac-Léognan AOC.

Haut Bailly is one of the few estates in Graves to produce only red wine.

In 1998, the Sanders family sold the vineyard to an American banker, Bob Wilmers, but Véronique Sanders continues to manage it. Gentle, almost discreet tannins, a delicate balance, "without anything too much" as Jean Sanders likes to say, define the incomparable Haut Bailly style. There is nothing ostentatious about this wine that embodies Bordeaux finesse.
