This is a great success for Haut-Bailly, superior to the 2005. Dark, intense and slightly evolved color. Superb suave and subtle nose. Smooth, fragrant, sapid, balanced palate, evolving on a noble, melting power, with a great quality of tannins in the persistence.

This vintage could not be different from the 2005 which is more powerful and focused. But this vintage still has its charm - attractive aromatics, elegant body and great balance. Layers of cedar, cassis and savory spices on the palate with a lingering finish. Ready now for those who enjoy young Bordeaux but it will keep for a few decades easily.

Berries, mineral and violet on the nose follow through to a full body, with chewy tannins and a beautiful floral finish. Starts out earthy, but turns rich and beautiful. Evolves beautifully in the glass.

Deep red colour. Lifted and fresh, the acidity more apparent. Plenty of fleshy fruit but a slight sous bois note and tannins fairly pronounced. Is that a touch of oak as well?

The Château Haut-Bailly is a french estate that produce Graves grands crus classés in Pessac-Leognan appellation.

Château Haut-Bailly  is one of the few major properties to produce only red. In 1998, the Sanders family sold the vineyard to an American banker, Bob Wilmers, but Veronique Sanders continues to manage. Tannins wise, almost discreet, a delicate balance, "without anything too" as he likes to say, Jean Sanders, define the incomparable style Haut Bailly. Nothing conspicuous in this wine that embodies the finesse of Bordeaux.
