Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
One of the treats when tasting through the profound Côte Rôties made by Marcel Guigal was the opportunity to taste all of the bottled 1995's. Reviewed in previous issues, they are even better from bottle than they were during their upbringing (a characteristic of many Guigal wines). The 1995 Côte Rôtie la Landonne is the stuff of legends and is every bit as compelling as readers might expect. This single vineyard wine will have at least 2 decades of longevity.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
It needs time in the decanter, but with air, the wine fills out, delivering a knockout nose, layers of concentrated, ripe, juicy, spicy, mineral driven, animalistic wild dark fruits and earthy scents. Full bodied, deep, masculine and even somewhat stern, in a refined manner. At 21 years of age, this has a long time to go. Very good now, but even better with another 5-10 years in the cellar.

Christer Byklum: Ruby, garnet rim. Red berries, iron, peppery, bramble, detailed, scented and detailed nose, layered. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, detailed, nuanced, bright, intense, layered, long. Superb stuff!

A full-bodied Syrah in an international-style that's complex and seductive, layered with cinnamon, toasted oak, plum, game, smoke, mineral and black fruit flavours. Turns massively tannic on the finish. Balanced and elegant despite the obvious richness, it's tempting on release, but needs a bit of time to tame the tannins.

Beautiful dark red colour. The wine is dense and thick in the glass. Nose of very ripe red fruit and plum. Delicate oak. Full-bodied yet velvety on the palate. Very structured and powerful. Very characteristic of the vintage.

Very dark blackish ruby. A bit sweet and oaky at first but it finished savoury and appetising.

The GUIGAL House vinifies and ages in its cellars in Ampuis the northern appellations of the Rhône Valley which are Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage, Saint-Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage. The aging of the great southern appellations Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Tavel and Côtes-du-Rhône is also carried out in the Ampuis cellars.

The Ermitage 'Ex-Voto' is produced in the finest vintages while the white and red Saint-Joseph 'Lieu-Dit Saint-Joseph' as well as the famous red Saint-Joseph "Vignes de l'Hospice" are true benchmarks for this Appellation.

Among the flagship wines of Domaine Guigal are the iconic Côte Rôtie "La Landonne", "La Turque" and "La Mouline". Undoubtedly known worldwide, Rhône wine enthusiasts are eager to acquire them. Some great vintages: 1978, 1982, 1985, 1988, 1989, 1991, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2003, 2005
