Wine Spectator September - 2008
Wine Spectator
A lilting, perfumy style, with incense, warm raspberry ganache and black tea aromas leading the way for mixed berry sorbet, mesquite and mocha notes. Supersilky on the long, alluring finish. A beauty, with impressive purity for the vintage.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
The 2004 Cote Rotie La Mouline rivals its two siblings as the wine of the vintage in this appellation. Beautifully sweet aromas of bacon fat, lychee nuts, caramelised black cherries, and raspberries are found in its complex aromatics. Black olive and black cherry flavours also emerge in the mouth. This lush, round, generously-endowed, sensual 2004 is best consumed over the next 10-12 years.

Deep red in color. Nice nose of red fruit, some pepper, graphite, and licorice. Extremely fresh palate with the oak complementing the rich profile. Delicious.

Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Close to fully developed, the medium-bodied wine is more interesting aromatically, due to its dried flower, smoke and yellow fruit accents than on its soft, open, fresh, smoky, red-fruited palate. There is no need to defer your gratification on this wine. It is better to drink now than to hold for further development.

Domaine Guigal
Domaine Guigal

The Domaine E. Guigal has established itself as one of the absolute references of the Rhône Valley, both northern and southern. Founded in 1946 in Ampuis by Étienne Guigal, the family estate has built its reputation on an exacting interpretation of terroirs and a constant pursuit of excellence. Today led by Marcel and Philippe Guigal, the domaine embodies a heritage vision of great wine, recognised on an international scale.

Historically established in Ampuis, Maison Guigal vinifies and ages in its cellars the entire range of great northern Rhône appellations, including Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage, Saint-Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage. This same site also ensures the ageing of emblematic southern appellations such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, guaranteeing perfect control of the ageing process and a coherent stylistic identity.

Closely associated with Côte-Rôtie, where it produces some of the most emblematic cuvées of the Rhône, Domaine E. Guigal distinguishes itself through wines of remarkable depth and longevity. Vintages that have become references, such as Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Turque 1985, Guigal La Landonne 1990, Guigal La Landonne 1989, Guigal Hermitage Ex-Voto 2003, Guigal La Mouline 1999, Guigal La Landonne 1989, Guigal Côte-Rôtie La Mouline 2010, Guigal La Mouline 2018 testify to the quality consistency and exceptional ageing potential of the estate.
