Jeff Leve - The Wine Cellar Insider
Violets, espresso, black and red plums, smoke, and dark red berries permeate the nose. On the palate, the wine quickly asserts its opulent character. The layers of exotically textured, silky, elegant, and refined fruits, with all their purity, linger for nearly 60 seconds. The wine combines 89% Syrah with 11% Viognier.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
The 2018 Cote Rotie La Mouline is immensely seductive, offering up enticing notes of floral potpourri and red berries on the nose. Those strawberries and raspberries persist onto the full-bodied palate and through the long, lush finish, buoyed by supple, creamy-textured tannins. Wine Spectator March - 2024
Wine Spectator
A beefy red pierced by intriguing spice and dried incense notes, with heavy espresso, charred anise and warm cedar elements draped over flavors of red plum and chocolate ganache. Shows savory acidity that drives energy through the long, cigar box–tinged finish. Brawny and bold, with serious power and pedigree.

Cask sample. Very closed nose. Super-svelte texture, but seems to have a certain reluctance to show its full range at present. There's potential here, but only time will tell to what extent. The score anticipates the best-case scenario.

The GUIGAL House vinifies and ages in its cellars in Ampuis the northern appellations of the Rhône Valley which are Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage, Saint-Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage. The aging of the great southern appellations Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Tavel and Côtes-du-Rhône is also carried out in the Ampuis cellars.

The Ermitage 'Ex-Voto' is produced in the finest vintages while the white and red Saint-Joseph 'Lieu-Dit Saint-Joseph' as well as the famous red Saint-Joseph "Vignes de l'Hospice" are true benchmarks for this Appellation.

Among the flagship wines of Domaine Guigal are the iconic Côte Rôtie "La Landonne", "La Turque" and "La Mouline". Undoubtedly known worldwide, Rhône wine enthusiasts are eager to acquire them. Some great vintages: 1978, 1982, 1985, 1988, 1989, 1991, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2003, 2005
