Château Du Tertre

Château du Tertre is an 80-hectare wine estate located in Arsac Margaux in the Gironde department. In the Médoc AOC, it is classified as a fifth grand cru in the official 1855 Bordeaux wine classification. The vineyard of Château du Tertre is composed of a grape variety consisting of 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot.

The vines are 40 years old on average. In 1997, Eric Albada Jelgersma, a Dutch businessman, purchased the Du Tertre estate where he made significant investments to restructure the entire property. With its exceptional terroir of rare homogeneity, the Du Tertre vineyard is now recognized as one of the highest quality potentials in the Margaux appellation. While modernizing the Du Tertre property, Eric Albada Jelgersma and his team have managed to preserve traditional methods, thus combining innovation with tradition.
