Château Talbot is among the most renowned classified growths of Saint-Julien, on Bordeaux’s left bank. Promoted to Fourth Growth in the 1855 classification, it takes its name from the English constable John Talbot, who fell at the Battle of Castillon in 1453. Owned by the Cordier family since 1918, the estate cultivates 110 hectares of contiguous gravel soils, dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, producing a straightforward, consistent wine with excellent ageing potential.

Great vintages have punctuated its history, from the legendary 1945 to the 1982 wine, a benchmark for the estate, through to the 1986 vintage and the more recent 2009. The estate also produces the second wine Connétable Talbot and the rare Caillou White, one of the first white wines to be replanted in the Médoc.
