Ranking Burgundy - Grand Cru

Grands Crus of Burgundy is the highest level of Burgundy wine classification.

In Burgundy it is the terroirs that are evaluated. A Grand Cru represents what the land offers best for the vine. While a Premier Cru combines the name of its climate with that of its village appellation, for a Grand Cru the climate is a name in its own right. The most prestigious estate that produces Burgundy grand cru are Domaine de la Romanée ContiDomaine des Lambrays and Bouchard Père et Fils.
