Allen Meadow - Burghound January - 2008
Allen Meadow - Burghound
An exceptionally fresh nose of beautiful red berry fruit and mineral hints trimmed in a subtle touch of wood spice introduces absolutely lovely, classy and pure moderately sized flavours that are built on a base of minerality, all wrapped in a vibrant and firmly structured finish where there is an almost palpable sense of the underlying tension and energy. A terrific Latricières that should improve for up to 15 years and last for 40. Again, note that considerable patience will be required and my suggested drinking window may very well be conservative.

Domaine Jean Louis Trapet

The Domaine Trapet Père et Fils is a French wine estate that produces Burgundy wines, Burgundy Premier Crus and Burgundy Grand Crus.

Founded in 1919 and located in the commune of Gevrey-Chambertin, the Jean Trapet Père et Fils estate rose to prominence during the 20th century.

The family estate spans over 15 hectares of vineyards, including 13.5 in Pinot Noir for red wines and 1.5 in Chardonnay for white wines. The estate's vines are 35 years old on average and harvesting is done by hand in accordance with winemaking traditions.

The estate is famous for its three Burgundy Grand Crus: Chambertin, Chapelle-Chambertin and Gevrey-Chambertin.

The wines from Domaine Trapet Père et Fils have excellent aging potential.
