Dark red colour. Intense. Lively. Slightly woody nose. When swirled, fruity. Animal touch. For now, it needs to be waited for. As often at Sociando, the wine is juicy, fresh and flavourful. This is the case here with a medium structure and tannicity that is not very present and without depth on the finish. But one can taste it or wait for it. Medium persistence.

Château Sociando-Mallet Cru Bourgeois, a wine from Haut-Médoc in Gironde. Château Sociando-Mallet is a wine prized by fine wine enthusiasts, as evidenced by its annual success in en primeur sales. Jean Gautreau's wine is one of the great overlooked wines from the 1855 classification. Because it is not officially part of the nobility of Médoc classified growths - even though it rivals more than a few - Château Sociando-Mallet must remain modest in terms of pricing. It thus offers one of the best value-for-money ratios among all great Bordeaux wines!
