Jean-Marc Quarin January - 2000
Jean-Marc Quarin
Dark red colour. Good intensity. Quite lively. Nose of medium intensity. Fairly good fruit note. Nuance of blackberry. On swirling, fresher fruit. Slightly spicy. Round and rather full-bodied palate, which is surprising and rather very satisfying for a second wine. The structure is very good and the tannin particularly well-coated in a vintage reputed to be austere. It's good. The medium body will make it quickly accessible for consumption. One of the most flavoursome second wines seen here.

Château Sociando Mallet
Château Sociando-Mallet Cru Bourgeois, a wine from Haut-Médoc in Gironde. Château Sociando-Mallet is a wine prized by fine wine enthusiasts, as evidenced by its annual success in en primeur sales. Jean Gautreau's wine is one of the great overlooked wines from the 1855 classification. Because it is not officially part of the nobility of Médoc classified growths - even though it rivals more than a few - Château Sociando-Mallet must remain modest in terms of pricing. It thus offers one of the best value-for-money ratios among all great Bordeaux wines!
