Wine Enthusiast January - 2005

A huge, tannin-packed wine which shows how the wines of St.-Estèphe are exhibiting their classic dryness and power. It will develop slowly, but surely.

Jean-Marc Quarin March - 2006
Jean-Marc Quarin
Beautiful dark colour. Lovely fruity nose, fresh, a hint of oak, a hint of green. The entry of this wine is tender and not very dense. This density comes rather afterwards, in the mid-palate. There, the wine evolves upwards, very, very flavourful, on a fine tannin grain, never oaky and full of aromas on the finish. And it is in the persistence that it makes the difference.

Very attractive aromas of crushed berries and cinnamon follow through to a medium body, with fine tannins and a caressing finish. Refined and pretty. Hard not to drink now.

Dark glowing crimson. Easy and round and fresh. Lovely balance. Though a hint of cloves. Tough end.

Château Haut Marbuzet

Château Haut-Marbuzet is a 61-hectare wine estate owned by the Duboscq family, located in Saint-Estèphe. It is a Médoc AOC and is classified as an exceptional Cru Bourgeois. The work of the Duboscq family has made Château Haut-Marbuzet a wine of the highest quality among Saint-Estèphe wines. Château Haut Marbuzet is also full of charm in its youth, developing wonderful spicy notes and red fruit aromas. Considered by some as the most Burgundian of Bordeaux wines, Château Haut Marbuzet was consecrated as Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel during the revision of the Crus Bourgeois classification in June 2003.
