(6-2015) The 2005 Giscours is a blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot and the rest tiny dollops of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot from this huge estate. It has loads of blue, red and black fruits, liquorice, spice, a touch of background oak and earth. It is medium to full-bodied, offering up sweet, velvety tannins and impressive purity and length.

Château Giscours

Château Giscours is a Bordeaux wine estate located in Labarde in the Gironde. Château Giscours produces wines under the Margaux AOC. It is among the Third Growth classified in the official 1855 Bordeaux wine classification, and is one of the largest estates in the Médoc. The vineyard covers nearly 86 hectares on a 300-hectare property. Giscours thus continues the legacy of generations of winemakers, making this estate a world-renowned Grand Cru.

Note the existence of a flawless second wine: La Sirène de Giscours.

The best vintages of Giscours are the 1945 wines, the 1961, 1982 and 1989 vintages which are excellent. Finally, the 1990 vintage, the grand crus from 2000 and 2009 as well as the 2015 vintage are among the Château's finest achievements.
