Jancis Robinson November - 2012
Jancis Robinson
NB vintage. Very rich and haunting on the nose with truffles and violets. Then admirably firm on the palate. But so much stuffing! Liqueur red burgundy… Great energy. Great muscularity. Wonderful silkiness almost disguises those tannins. Enormous persistence without heaviness. Neat finish. Thoroughly energetic. Absolutely heavenly. Bravo!

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
I tasted the 2010s twice from barrel, once in the summer just as the wines were about to be racked and then again during my early December visit. On both occasions the wines were stellar. Like virtually all of his colleagues, co-manager Aubert de Villaine was surprised by the level of the 2010s given all of the challenges of the growing season.

Domaine Romanée Conti
Domaine Romanée Conti

The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is one of the most iconic wine estates in Burgundy and an absolute benchmark among the great wines of the world. Its history is intimately bound to the greatest climats of Vosne-Romanée, of which it is the exclusive or near-exclusive custodian. The estate cultivates a number of exceptional grand crus, among them Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Grands Échézeaux, Échézeaux, as well as the celebrated Montrachet for its white wines.

La Romanée-Conti, a Grand Cru classified climat, forms the historical and symbolic heart of the estate. In the estate's ownership since the 18th century, this monopole vineyard embodies a demanding vision of wine, founded on precision, faithfulness to the terroir, and an exceptionally rigorous approach to viticulture. The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is renowned for its constant pursuit of balance and purity of expression, favouring very low yields and meticulous work in the vineyard.

Iconic vintages such as Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1942, the 1945 wine, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 1986, the 1990 vintage, the year 2000, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2005, Romanée-Conti 2011, illustrate the estate's capacity to produce wines of remarkable depth, capable of spanning decades while retaining an exceptional clarity of origin. The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti thus remains an essential reference for understanding the excellence and singularity of the great wines of Burgundy.
