Dark red. Intense. Black. Clear. Intense. Fine. Fruity. Fresh and deep. Similar. Very fresh. Nuanced. I am probably tasting here one of the most accomplished La Mondotte wines, the best crafted in a difficult vintage. First, it enchants with the precision of its attack, its smoothness, before becoming a little more slender. For a few seconds, it reminds me that 2002 is not really the vintage for limestone terroirs. At that moment, I forget its body, so captivated am I by a strong aroma of violet and liquorice. Then the wine perfumes the mouth and finishes long, very fresh, fruity and slightly oaky. Very original.

This is tight right now and needs bottle age to open up. Yet with decanting it reveals blackberry, vanilla, spices and cherries. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and a long, caressing finish. Finely crafted.
