If several bottles are in stock, the photo is non-contractual and illustrates the condition of the bottle.

Like 1993, 1994 was characterised by its precocity thanks to a very mild winter. September rains accelerated the harvest, which was healthy and well-ripened.
The characteristic of Haut Brion 1994 is its harmony, a very silky and fine structure and the aromatic complexity of the wines from this Graves terroir. Lots of charm in this bottle which can be consumed in the very next years and which will age remarkably well.

Has wonderful richness and suppleness, lovely fruit and harmony. A superb example of a graceful, balanced wine that is delicious now and can evolve over many years.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
Unlike the piercing and forward aromas of the 1993 vintage, the aromas of the 1994 vintage are closed. There are aromas of sweet black fruits, reminiscent of truffles, and minerals. This rich and spicy wine is more masculine and more structured than the previous vintage, with the potential to present even more complexity and richness. It is very well made with beautiful balance and very pure. The addition of new chain, acidity, and tannins is commendable.

With some austerity, there is a distinctive leafy, forest, and herb edge to the tobacco, red plum and cedary, smoky personality. Firm tannins with some toughness on the classically styled palate, decanting helps, but at close to 25 years of age, this is what it is.

Château Haut Brion
Château Haut Brion

Château Haut-Brion is one of the most emblematic wines of Bordeaux. In 1855, it received the supreme distinction of Premier Cru Classé, an exceptional recognition as it is the only non-Médoc estate to appear in the classification of Médoc wines, whilst also being classified as a Cru Classé de Graves. It is today an absolute reference of the Pessac-Léognan appellation.

Its terroir, similar to that of Château Latour, gives the wines of Haut-Brion a unique nobility. Without seeking extreme power, the wine distinguishes itself through its elegance, the finesse of its tannins and a remarkable ageing capacity, often considered one of the greatest in Bordeaux.

Château Haut-Brion is the oldest, and also the smallest in surface area, of the Bordeaux Premiers Grands Crus Classés, alongside Château Lafite Rothschild, Château Latour, Château Margaux and Château Mouton Rothschild. Whilst the presence of vines in the region dates back to Roman times, the first written mention of the vineyard dates from 1423. The estate was founded in 1525 by Jean de Pontac and quickly gained international renown. Its reputation was such that it contributed to the very birth of the notion of Grand Cru, mentioned as early as 1663 by Samuel Pepys in his celebrated diary. More recently, the estate belonged to Clarence Douglas Dillon, former United States Secretary of the Treasury, further contributing to its prestige.

Among the most emblematic vintages of Château Haut-Brion are: Château Haut-Brion 1928, Château Haut-Brion 1945, Château Haut-Brion 1953, Château Haut-Brion 1959, Château Haut-Brion 1961, Château Haut-Brion 1982, Château Haut-Brion 1990, Château Haut-Brion 1995 and Château Haut-Brion 2000.
