Dark red. Medium intensity. Evolved. Clean. Medium intensity. Animal. Fur. Fruity. Smooth. Fine. Plum. Seductive for its caressing mouthfeel. Slow juicy and fresh evolution on a medium body that drops a little in the finish, but comes back with persistence with lovely aromas and a slightly dry note in the tannin.

Subtle ruby with hints of brown. Minerals and burnt aromas. Definitely tarry. 'Thick' tasting with an edge of minerals and just a little lack of fruit in the middle. At or just past its peak now. After sitting in the decanter for an hour it developed the most delightful velvety texture - essence of Pomerol Merlot.

Neighbour of Petrus, Château La Fleur-Pétrus is a remarkable Pomerol, refined and round, one of the greatest Pomerols, absolutely essential and still accessible, if one can say so. The terroir of Château La Fleur-Pétrus plays its role fully, with deep gravel soil that gives the wine a natural elegance and finesse. The Cabernet Franc, used in greater quantity, gives superb results, with wines that need almost ten years of aging!
