Dark colour, medium intensity and evolved. Moderately aromatic nose, with very ripe fruit. Notes of orange peel. Lovely caressing entry on the palate, then the wine begins to melt, juicy, flavourful, with a refined mouthfeel. Perfumed, it evolves creamy, rather long with finely oaked notes. It's lovely and very pleasant without the lively touch of Cheval Blanc on the finish

A slightly deeper colour than the Petrus. A sweet nose but with less complexity and delineation: red cherry, a touch of cranberry and cigar box. The palate is medium-bodied, rather "fluffy", lacking delineation and vigour. But there is a natural charm to it, unassuming, laid back almost. A sweet minerally, bitter cherry and dried orange peel finish. Not bad at all, although it lacks depth and concentration and will not improve.

Neighbour of Petrus, Château La Fleur-Pétrus is a remarkable Pomerol, refined and round, one of the greatest Pomerols, absolutely essential and still accessible, if one can say so. The terroir of Château La Fleur-Pétrus plays its role fully, with deep gravel soil that gives the wine a natural elegance and finesse. The Cabernet Franc, used in greater quantity, gives superb results, with wines that need almost ten years of aging!
